My name is Kelsey White.

I grew up in a suburb about 40 minutes west of Chicago, which doesn't really matter to the story at all.

​

More importantly, I packed up my Mini Cooper and moved to Texas- 1,000 miles away- in 2015.

I worked at Austin Pets Alive, a no-kill animal shelter where we often said, "save them all!"

(since we saved cats and dogs who would have been euthanized elsewhere).

 

One day, while living in Austin, I was cutting up a piece of raw chicken,

when it clicked.......

I was not saving them all.

In fact, I was the reason *this one* was NOT safe.

I was the reason *this one* wound up on a cutting board in someone's kitchen.

..........I didn't eat chicken that night.

I actually kept eating meat for some time after that,

but, in the following months, I learned more and more about what it meant

   

to be vegan

 

and knew I had to be a part of it ♡

Going vegan was the best thing I have ever done

and there's nothing I love more than helping other people do the same.
